Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
HoldUp ("we", "our", or "the app") is built with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we never do with it.
What We Collect
HoldUp collects only the minimum information needed to function:
- Conversation context you provide — text or screenshots you submit for analysis. This is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response and is not stored on our servers.
- Your analysis history — stored locally on your device only. We never upload it.
- Notification preferences — stored locally on your device.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not create user accounts or collect personal information.
- We do not track your usage, location, or behavior.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any data.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
AI Processing
When you submit a moment, the text or image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing. We do not store your prompts or responses on any server after the response is returned to your device.
Screenshots & Images
If you upload a screenshot, it is sent to Anthropic's API solely to extract conversation context. The image is not stored, indexed, or used for any other purpose.
Notifications
HoldUp may send local notifications to remind you to reflect on past moments. These are scheduled on-device and do not involve any external server.
Children
HoldUp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
